Display Line Number for the Item Sublist on Transaction Records

Scenario

The Item Sublist on the transaction records do not show the line numbers by default. To track the line number, create a Custom Transaction Line field to display its value.

Solution

 

1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Line Fields > New
2. Label: Enter Field Name
3. Example: Item Numbering
4. Type: Select Free-form Text
5. Store Value: Remove Checkmark
6. Click Applies to 
7. Preferred Transaction/s: Enter Checkmark
8. Click Validation & Defaulting 
9. Default Value: Enter {linenumber}
10. Formula: Enter Checkmark
11. Click Save
