In NetSuite, within the Employee Center, viewing, creating, and maintaining job-related information is possible. Tasks and events can be created, and both purchase requests and expense reports can be submitted, with the ability to monitor the approval status of each. If time tracking is utilized, time can be entered on a daily or weekly basis.
To enter a time transaction in NetSuite through the Employee center:
- In the Employee Center – Home Links portlet, under Time Tracking, select Track Time.
- The current date is automatically set as the posting date for this time transaction.
- If needed, input or select a different date.
- Choose a name from the Customer field.
- If the time is billable to the customer, mark the Billable box.
- In the Service Item field, pick the item that best describes the work done during this time.
- If the company monitors departments, classes, or locations, select the relevant information in those fields.
- In the Duration field: Either enter the total time spent on this service item (e.g., input 4:30 for four hours and 30 minutes of work). Or if you want NetSuite to calculate your work time, click the Calculate icon. Enter the start and end times (e.g., 10:00 AM), and include any break time (e.g., 0:30 for thirty minutes).
- Include any optional comments in the Memo field.
- Once time entry is complete for this service item or customer, click Save.
- To enter time for a different week, select Prev Week or Next Week button.
