When attempting to perform an intercompany elimination, the user encounters the error: “The Location XXX is not available in the elimination subsidiary XXX required to run intercompany elimination. Please change the location record to include the elimination subsidiary.”
Solution:
This error occurs when the Location field is set to mandatory on transactions.
To resolve the issue, ensure that the Location value is both provided and available to the Elimination Subsidiary.
Steps to Create a Location:
- Navigate to Setup > Company > Locations > New.
- Name: Enter the desired name.
- Subsidiary: Select the Elimination Subsidiary.
- Click Save.
Alternative Option:
If you prefer not to require locations on transactions, you can disable the Make Locations Mandatory setting:
- Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences.
- Uncheck Make Locations Mandatory.
- Click Save.
