Error:
When adding journals into NetSuite via CSV Import, the system keeps on throwing the error message: The amounts in the journal entry must balance.
We already checked the solution provided in SuiteAnswers Article ID 14160, but the system is still giving the same error message.
Probable reason:
After verifying that the total of the debit and credit columns are the exact same with consideration of the decimal points, if the error still persists it might be due to the number of digits in the amount columns. Generally, when the amount [can be debit or credit] is close to or more than 11 digits, the system throws this error.
Solution:
Change the amount column to type ‘Text’. Ensure that the totals of debit and credit are still the exact match. Then import the Journal transaction. It would be recommended to use the csv import assistant in this scenario rather than the single import journal option available in Transactions -> Financials -> Make Journal Entries -> import.
