In the Vendor records, we could see that there is no option to set up a parent for the Vendor but names are appearing like Name 1 : Charity Name A.
The name shown usually comes when a Parent record is associated with the NetSuite records.
In this case, as Vendor records don’t have a parent field, there could be a relationship or link in the backend of the scripts.
We have functionality to create Customers From Vendors OR Vendors from Customers using another relationship process.
To recreate the issue, tried creating a Lead/Customer with the parent as an Individual Customer. After that, a Vendor is created with the ‘Other relationship’ process. Now if we search for the Vendor record, the name will have the parent entity of the Lead/Customer record.
In our scenario, if someone created a Vendor as an ‘Other relationship’ of a Customer with a parent as an Individual customer.
So a relationship existed in the NetSuite background.
To fix this issue create a Customer from the Vendor via Other relationship process. We will see that there is a parent value after saving. Remove this value on the Edit page of Customer, save the Customer record and then delete it.
Now the Vendor name will not have any additional parent names as prefixes..
