Issue: Email address is showing up as Global Search result instead of name when doing an employee search.
For instance, when the user type in EMP: test in the global search for an employee named “Test Employee”, the result will show “Employee: testemployee@test.com” instead of “Employee: Test Employee”
To rectify this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Set Up > Company > Auto-Generated Numbers
- Go to the Entities Tab
- Look for the line item for Employee Type
- Click the checkbox for Enable
- Click the checkbox for Allow override
- Click Save
- Edit the affected Employee record
- Cut the Employee ID
- Paste the Employee ID in the same field. (Or update the Employee ID via CSV import)
- Click Save
Users may or may not disable the Auto-Generated Numbering for employees after doing the steps above.
