Global search issue: Email Address Showing Up Instead of the Name

Issue: Email address is showing up as Global Search result instead of name when doing an employee search. 

For instance, when the user type in EMP: test in the global search for an employee named “Test Employee”, the result will show “Employee: testemployee@test.com” instead of “Employee: Test Employee”

To rectify this, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Set Up > Company > Auto-Generated Numbers
  2. Go to the Entities Tab
  3. Look for the line item for Employee Type
  4. Click the checkbox for Enable
  5. Click the checkbox for Allow override
  6. Click Save
  7. Edit the affected Employee record
  8. Cut the Employee ID
  9. Paste the Employee ID in the same field. (Or update the Employee ID via CSV import)
  10. Click Save

Users may or may not disable the Auto-Generated Numbering for employees after doing the steps above.
