Global Subscription Status

The only two choices you can set manually are soft opt-out and soft opt-in.  The Global Subscriptoin Status field only affects email sent via campaigns and bulk merge.

from the online help:

Confirmed Opt-In – When an email recipient has indicated that they want to receive your campaign messages, they are assigned this subscription status. Only a lead or customer can set their subscription status to Confirmed Opt-In.

Getting recipients to opt in results in better delivery rates and faster delivery as these messages are less likely to be labelled as spam by ISPs.

*

Soft Opt-In – Recipients with this status can receive opt-in messages that enable them to confirm whether or not they want to receive your email campaigns as well as email marketing campaigns.

You can set a recipient’s status to Soft Opt-In manually or through a mass update.

*

Soft Opt-Out – Recipients with this status cannot receive campaign email messages but can receive opt-in messages.

You can change this subscription status to Soft Opt-In manually or through a mass update.

*

Confirmed Opt-Out – Only the recipient can set their subscription status to Confirmed Opt-Out.

Recipients with this status cannot receive email campaigns or opt-in messages. Recipients with this status can only opt in again through the Customer Center or by clicking the link in a campaign message they have received prior to opting out.

When a customer confirmed to opt out the subscription, no one in your company can resubscribe them. Recipients cannot be resubscribed manually on the entity record, or through updates made through CSV import. Only the recipient can choose to resubscribe.

Customers can opt in to your campaign email through one of the following ways:

  • Through opt-in email
  • Opting-in through the Campaign Subscription Center
  • Clicking the Opt-In link in the footer of an email campaign message

To view all subscription messages sent to a recipient:

  1. Open the recipient’s record.
  2. Click the

Marketing subtab.

  1. The

Subscription Message History subtab contains a list of all subscription invitation and confirmation email messages previously sent to the recipient. The list is organized by date and time and contains information about the sender, the recipient, and the type of message.

if an entity unsubscribes to your campaigns, NetSuite unsubscribes any entity record in your account with that entity’s email address and this could be the reason why the status will revert back to Confirmed Opt-Out.

Please refer to this SuiteAnswers article.

There is an existing Enhancement Request logged under #244527 Requesting the ability to resend the “Send Subscription Email” for customers with Global Subscription Status to Confirmed Opt-Out.

Although you can’t send Campaigns to an entity that has Soft Opt-Out or Confirmed Opt-Out, you can still send regular emails from NetSuite.
