Users can upload a custom VAT100 report from CSV file to NetSuite and submit United Kingdom VAT100 Return directly to HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) system using the UK Submit VAT Return via CSV feature.
VAT returns serve several crucial purposes in businesses and companies. They provide valuable information that helps stakeholders understand and evaluate the financial performance and tax position of the organization.
Admins who understand the necessary permissions to give on this report can ensure to uphold data security, compliance, accuracy, and efficiency within their organization’s financial processes.
In NetSuite, users can generate VAT returns via the Tax Reports (International) page.
The following permissions and access must be added to custom roles to enable the MTD for VAT feature:
To add the role as Audience:
1. Navigate to Customization > Scripting > Scripts
2. In the From Bundle filter, enter 43003
3. Click View for the following scripts:
- a. Online Filing Runner Suitelet (ID: customdeploy_online_filing_runner_su)
- b. Online Filing Suitelet (ID: customdeploy_online_filling_su)
- c. Authorization Suitelet (ID: customdeploy_authorization_su)
- d. Online Filing Import Suitelet (ID: customdeploy_online_filing_import_su)
4. Go to Deployments tab and click on the Script’s Title link
5. Edit the Script Deployment
6. Go to Audience tab
7. Add the custom role in the Roles field
8. Click Save

3. Click Edit
4. Go to Permissions tab > Custom Record subtab:
- a. Online Filing (set Level = Edit)

- d. Online Filing Template (set Level = Edit)
5. Click Save
