Step 1: Log In with the Appropriate Role
To create a dashboard for a specific role, you must log in with that role. For example, if you’re setting up a dashboard for “Sales Manager,” switch to that role first.
Step 2: Customize the Dashboard
- Navigate to Home: Click on the Home tab to begin customizing.
- Add Portlets:
- Use the Personalize Dashboard link (top right).
- Select the portlets you want, such as:
- KPI Meter
- Report Snapshot
- Trend Graphs
- Shortcuts
- Reminders
- Custom Searches
Configure Content:
- For KPI meters or saved searches, click the gear ⚙️ icon in each portlet to choose relevant data.
- Use filters and sorting to show only role-specific metrics.
Step 3: Save the Dashboard
- Once customized, click the Home dropdown > Set Up Dashboard.
- Click Save to save the current layout.
- Optional: Click Publish Dashboard to publish the dashboard for the current role.
Step 4: Publish the Dashboard
To share the dashboard with other users of the role:
- Navigate to:
Home > Set Up Dashboard > Publish Dashboard- Enter a Dashboard Name.
- Check the box: “Publish for Role”.
- Select the Role you want to publish to.
- Choose whether to Apply to Existing Users or only new users:
Apply to Existing Users: Overwrites current dashboard setup.Apply to New Users: Sets it for users who are newly assigned the role.
- Click Save & Publish.
Note: Overwriting the dashboard for existing users cannot be undone.
Step 5: Verify as Another User (Optional)
You may test the setup:
- Log in as a user with that role.
- Navigate to Home.
- Check if the dashboard matches the published setup.
