How to do green screen editing in Premiere Pro:

  1. Import the footage with the green screen into your Premiere Pro project.
  2. Drag and drop the footage onto the timeline, then right-click on the clip and select “Set to Frame Size” to ensure it is the correct size.
  3. Go to the Effects panel and search for the “Ultra Key” effect. Drag and drop this effect onto the green screen footage.
  4. In the Effect Controls panel, click on the eyedropper tool in the Ultra Key effect to select the green color in your footage. You should see the green background disappear and be replaced with transparency.
  5. Adjust the settings in the Ultra Key effect to fine-tune the keying. Use the “Matte Generation” settings to adjust the edge of the keyed image, and use the “Matte Cleanup” settings to remove any remaining green spill.
  6. If necessary, add a background image or footage to your project by dragging and dropping it onto the timeline below the green screen footage.
  7. Use the “Opacity” setting to adjust the transparency of your keyed footage, and use the “Scale” and “Position” settings to adjust the size and position of the keyed footage.
  8. Make any additional adjustments to the green screen footage and the background as needed, and then export your video.

That’s it! With these steps, you can effectively remove the green screen from your footage and add any background you want using Premiere Pro.
