Questions
I am using Netsuite SRP. I am creating an expense report for an employee for the project expenses incurred by the employee. I will later
Invoice it to the customer by using the Time and material billing method so that this expense report line will be shown under the billable
Expense tab when I create the project invoice. (given that if I mark the expense report line as ‘Billable’).
My query is, While doing a project or transaction saved search then how will I get the expense report line and amount of a project which has not yet been invoiced/Billed? In the case of time tracking, the individual time record has a billed status. So if there is no standard way to achieve this in a saved search or by using a script how can I identify this expense report line?
Answers
Good day! Please try to do the following steps below if they will address your concern about the Transaction Saved Search of Expense
Reports:
- Navigate to Lists > Search > Saves Searches > New.
- Click on Transaction.
- On the Criteria tab add the Filter:
Type = is Expense Report - On Results tab, add Field for:
Date
Period
Document Number
Name
Account
Memo
Amount
Billable | Summary Type = Group
Applying Transaction
- Click Preview.
• The Billable column will indicate if that particular Expense Report is billable to the customer or not.
• The Applying Transaction column will indicate the Invoice number used once the Expense Report has been invoiced.
• The Applying Transaction column will also indicate the Bill Payment transaction used to pay the Expense Report.
Below is the sample of the Result of the above Saved Search on my end:
Upon hitting Preview, two links will be provided summarizing the Expense Report as Billable or Not Billable - The Results for Expense Reports which are not Billable are shown below:
