To import and edit videos in Blender, you will use the Video Sequencer Editor (VSE). Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Importing Videos
- Open Blender:
- Launch Blender and open a new project or an existing one.
- Switch to Video Editing Workspace:
- At the top of Blender, switch to the “Video Editing” workspace. This layout is designed for video editing tasks.
- Add Video Clips:
- In the Video Sequencer panel at the bottom, click
Add > Movieor pressShift + Aand chooseMovie. - Navigate to your video file(s) and click
Add Movie Clip. The video will be added to the timeline.
Editing Videos
- Basic Editing:
- Move: Select a strip and press
Gto move it. - Cut: Select a strip, position the playhead where you want to cut, and press
Kto make a cut. - Trim: Click and drag the ends of a strip to trim it.
- Delete: Select a strip and press
Xto delete it.
- Transitions and Effects:
- Add Transitions: To add a transition, overlap two video strips, then select both strips, press

Exporting the Edited Video

- Choose Output Directory:
- In the Output section, click on the folder icon next to the output path and choose where you want to save the rendered video.
