To generate the App Password for your Gmail account, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable 2-Step Verification
Before generating an app password, you need to enable 2-Step Verification for your Gmail account.
- Go to your Google Account Security Settings:
- Open this link in your browser: https://myaccount.google.com/security.
- Enable 2-Step Verification:
- Scroll down to the Signing in to Google section.
- Click on 2-Step Verification and follow the on-screen instructions to set it up.
- You will need your phone for verification.
Step 2: Generate an App Password
Once 2-Step Verification is enabled, you can generate the App Password:
- Go to the App Passwords page:
- In your Google Account, go back to the Security section.
- Under Signing in to Google, you will now see an option for App Passwords. Click on it.
- Sign in to your Google Account (if prompted).
- Create the App Password:
- Under the “Select app” dropdown, choose Mail.
- Under the “Select device” dropdown, choose Other (Custom name) and enter a name like “Firebase” or “Email Service.”
- Click Generate.
- Copy the generated password:
- Google will display a 16-character password. This is the App Password that you will need to send to us.
