We don’t want to see the department number and description together on the income statement. So, we are planning to create a custom field for department number and display it on the income statement. Hence, the question.
Do I need to download Financial Report Builder to do it? If so, where should I download it from?
Solution:
This can be done via customization.
High-level steps are
- Create a custom Body/Line department field (depending on where the department is populated on Transaction Records).
- Use the appropriate custom formula to populate the custom department naming to the custom field. There is a chance you may need a workflow to do that.
- Edit the Income Statement and choose the custom Department field.
