If we bill the sales order by viewing the SO and then clicking on the BILL (or Next Bill/Bill Remaining) buttons, we will be taken to a new invoice, but an error message pops up saying “Warning: this copied transaction uses the following inactive items. We should remove these items before saving if we do not want their balances to change.
To resolve:
1. Users may bill the open SO by navigating to Transactions > Sales > Invoice Sales Orders
2.Mark the “Invoice” checkbox next to the Sales order number
3.Click Submit
NetSuite would process the invoice in the background and the record will be created when the job is completed.
