This proposal outlines the extent of implementing ABC Analysis for Blackstone Industries
LLC.
Requirement
Blackstone Industries LLC aims to implement ABC analysis into their inventory management
system. This implementation will empower users to utilize the ABC analysis methodology for
enhanced inventory management. Consequently, items listed in the sheet will be categorized
into distinct groups based on the provided categories.
Proposed Solution
To implement the ABC analysis effectively, we suggest introducing a custom field in the item
record. This field will reflect the item’s category as provided by the client. By aligning the
item record with the provided sheet, we can ensure accurate categorization.
For items that are not categorized under A, B, or C, a ‘Pending Assignment’ status will be
assigned, allowing you to categorize them accordingly.
Building upon this approach, we can leverage the A, B, and C categories to generate various
insightful reports:
Sales Performance Analysis: We’ll create a detailed sales performance report categorized by
A, B, and C segments. This will provide a clear view of the revenue contribution from each
category, aiding decision-making regarding resource allocation and marketing strategies.
Inventory stock analysis Report : This report will highlight the inventory on hand for each
category in various locations, enhancing inventory management and order fulfillment
5 accuracy.
Monthly Best Sellers Report: Expanding on the concept, the monthly best sellers report will
now also consider the category dimension. This will help identify which categories are
consistently driving higher sales each month. The summary of these best sellers across
categories can provide crucial insights into demand trends.
Assumptions and Limitations
• We will apply the ABC inventory classification exclusively to items listed in the shared
Excel report.
• Kindly confirm whether we should set the default value as ‘Pending for Unassigned’
for all items or if it should be left blank.
• Initially, our ABC analysis implementation will be introduced in the sandbox
environment. After verification, we will proceed to deploy it in the production
environment.
• Reports will be created using saved searches, workbooks, or customized report.
