Before we import child matrix assembly items, we need to set up a custom list and a custom item field for our Assembly matrix item options. Each custom list represents a matrix option such as size or color and includes the set of possible values for that option. Each custom item field provides an interface for the display and selection of that matrix option on item forms.
If we have already created matrix options for matrix inventory items, the same might be used for assembly items also. For that, we should tick the box corresponding to Assembly/Bill of material under an Applies To subtab in the custom Item Field. Please go through the step given below,
Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Item Fields
Select the matrix option we required from the Custom Item fields (Previously created).
Tick the Assembly/Bill of material Box under the Applies To subtab and Save it.
If the matrix options have not yet been created, follow these steps.
To set up a custom list for a matrix option:
Go to Customization >Lists, Records, & Fields > Lists > NewEnter a name for the option, choose the display order for option values, check the Matrix Option. List box, add the values that you want to be available for that option and click Save.
To set up a custom item field for a matrix option:
Go to Customization >Lists, Records, & Fields > Item Fields > NewEnter the name of a custom list in the Label field. Check the Matrix Option box., Select the custom list from the List/Record list., On the Applies To subtab check the boxes for the types of items that can have this matrix option and Click Save & Apply to form.
After creating our custom lists and custom item fields, Then we can import Child Matrix Assembly Items.
