Is it possible to associate employees from multiple subsidiaries as resources to a project from another subsidiary?

In NetSuite OneWorld, you can indeed associate employees from multiple subsidiaries as resources to a project from another subsidiary.

Assigning Subsidiaries to Employees:

  • By default, when you specify a subsidiary on an employee record, that employee can access only records associated with that subsidiary.
  • However, you can grant an employee access to data for additional subsidiaries.
  • Go to Setup > Users/Roles > User Management > Manage Roles.
  • For the employee’s assigned role, use the multi-select Subsidiaries list to customize the role. You can press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple subsidiaries.
  • This allows the employee to access data across different subsidiaries.

Employees from various subsidiaries can be allocated to a project in a different subsidiary by utilizing Intercompany expenses and time tracking.

The key requirement is that each employee must be designated as a project resource.

To make an employee a project resource, do the following steps:

  • Go to the employee record which you want to add as a project resource.
  • Under the Human Resource Subtab, there is a check box for making the employee a project resource.
  • Check the box.

The employee with project resource checkbox checked will be available while adding resorce to a project irrespective of the subsidiary.
