· Body Level Fields: Individuals listed their name under key role Project manager automatically receive view access.
· Resource Subtab: Those listed under the Resource Details in the subtab will also gain view access.
Edit Access:
· Project Manager: Project Managers listed in the body level fields are provided with edit access, empowering them to make real-time updates and adjustments to the project’s tasks and status.
· Resource Subtab – Project Manager: Users listed under the Resource Details in the subtab with the role of Project Manager also receive edit access, reinforcing the idea that those overseeing resources have the necessary control to manage tasks effectively.
My Own Task: Any task assigned to an individual is automatically granted edit access to that person. This feature ensures that team members have direct control over tasks assigned to them, promoting individual accountability and ownership.
Default and Custom Board Configuration
Default Board Configuration
In the initial stage, the Kanban Board begins with a default configuration. This board is automatically generated based on the status of project tasks, categorizing them into three buckets: Not Started (color-coded in black), In Progress (color-coded in blue), and Completed (color-coded in green). This setup aligns with the project task statuses, promoting a clear and visual representation of ongoing work. Additionally, tasks are classified based on priority—low, medium, and high. This classification aids in focusing on critical tasks and ensures a structured approach to task management. The Kanban Board streamlines task status updates. For instance, if a task is moved from the “Not Started” bucket to the “In Progress” bucket through the Kanban Board, the task’s status in the task record is automatically updated to “In Progress,” ensuring real-time synchronization between the board and task records. In default board no editing is possible to boards.
In the default board, task status adjustments are a breeze. Whether by moving tasks to desired buckets or directly clicking on the task to modify its status, the default board provides a versatile interface.
New Board Creation: Creating Custom Boards
As projects evolve, the Kanban Board provides the flexibility to create custom boards tailored to specific needs. The “Create New” option allows users to define the board name, column/bucket names, and other preferences.
Unassigned Bucket for Enhanced Organization: During custom board creation, an “Unassigned” bucket is automatically generated. This bucket accommodates tasks that are not yet assigned to specific columns, ensuring a systematic organization of tasks. Users can seamlessly drag tasks from the “Unassigned” bucket to designated columns. Custom boards offer dynamic management capabilities. If tasks are moved from the “Unassigned” bucket to the newly created columns/buckets, the “Unassigned” bucket is automatically removed from the board, maintaining a clean and organized visual representation.
