Kit item Missing On Fulfilling A Sales Order

The client has a query that, when fulfilling a sales order the kit items in the sales order are not showing on the fulfillment page. The sales order contains inventory items and kit items. But the fulfillment page only shows the inventory item.

A Kit/Package type of item does not carry an inventory on its own. It mainly depends on the availability of the member items.

When trying to fulfill a sales order that has a Kit or Package on it where one of the members does not contain enough quantity to commit to the order then the item will not be shown on the item fulfillment page.

It also shows an error “There is no commitment for this transaction! It cannot be fulfilled”

This will happen when the accounting preference fulfill based on the commitment preference is set to Limit to committed. Setting this preference value Restricts fulfillment to a quantity not greater than the quantity committed. Orders default to fulfill only the committed items and quantities and the fulfillment quantity cannot be increased beyond the committed quantity. Other items that are not committed do not show on the fulfillment and cannot be added.
