Limits on Upsell Manager Data

Determining Data Allocation

NetSuite’s Upsell Manager allocates data storage based on the number of items and customers within your account. The fundamental principle is simple: NetSuite takes the larger of these two values to determine your data allocation. This means that whether you have a plethora of products or a vast customer base, you’ll receive an allocation that suits your needs.

Let’s look at a table illustrating some examples of data allocations based on the number of customers or items:

Number of Customers / ItemsNumber of Correlations / Recommendations Allowed
Less than 2,000100
5,00040
10,00020
25,0008
50,0004
100,0002

These allocations make it clear that smaller accounts with fewer customers and items receive a more substantial number of correlations and recommendations. However, what happens if you have a larger account?

Calculating for Larger Accounts

If your NetSuite account surpasses the threshold of 2,000 items or customers, the calculation for the maximum number of correlated items and customer recommendations becomes slightly more intricate:

  1. Determine the number of items or customers in your account and use the larger of these two values. For instance, if your account has 4,500 customers, you’ll use this number.
  2. Divide this larger number by 2,000, which is the customer/items threshold. In our example, 4,500 divided by 2,000 equals 2.25.
  3. Divide 100 by the figure obtained in the previous step. So, 100 divided by 2.25 equals approximately 44.

The result of this calculation is the number of correlated items and customer recommendations that NetSuite allocates to your account. To illustrate, if you have 4,500 customers, NetSuite will allow your account to have 44 recommendations per customer and 44 correlations per item.

These allocation mechanisms ensure that businesses of all sizes receive an equitable share of recommendations and correlations, which can significantly enhance their upselling and cross-selling efforts.

NetSuite’s Upsell Manager empowers businesses to leverage data for upselling and cross-selling strategies. The allocation of recommendations and correlations is based on the size of your customer base and inventory, ensuring that businesses, whether large or small, can make the most of this powerful tool. As your business grows, NetSuite grows with you, providing the data support you need to thrive in the world of e-commerce.
