Managing Amazon FBA Returns via Celigo Integration App

Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) is a service where Amazon stores, picks, packs, and ships products on behalf of sellers. It also handles customer service and returns, making it a popular choice for eCommerce businesses looking to scale efficiently.

To manage FBA returns within NetSuite, Celigo offers an FBA Returns Add-On in its Amazon – NetSuite Integration App. This add-on automates the syncing of customer return data from Amazon to NetSuite, ensuring accurate inventory and financial records.

Key Benefits:

  • Automated Return Syncing: Pulls FBA returns from Amazon and creates corresponding NetSuite records.
  • Disposition-Based Handling: Differentiates between “sellable” and “damaged” returns and routes them to appropriate NetSuite locations.
  • Zero-Impact Accounting: Sets RA amounts to $0 to avoid duplicate GL entries from Amazon settlements.
  • Item Alias Support: Matches returned items using aliases if direct SKU lookup fails.

Steps Involved:

1. Enable the Add-On

  • Go to the Subscriptions tab in the Integration App.
  • Enable the Amazon (FBA) returns to NetSuite RA and item receipts flow.

2. Configure Flow Settings

  • Set a Start Date to define how far back you want to fetch FBA return data.
  • Define lookup criteria for matching invoices (default: custbody_celigo_etail_order_id).
  • Assign NetSuite locations for:
  • Sellable returns
  • Damaged returns
  • Optionally, configure a Write-off account for damaged items.
  • Set an Offset Time (recommended: 4320 minutes = 3 days) to delay syncing and ensure Amazon’s data is finalized.

3. Run the Flow

  • First-Time Setup:
  • If you’re running the flow for the first time, go to the flow’s Settings and select a Start Date to begin syncing historical returns.
  • Execution:
  • Run the flow manually or schedule it to run periodically. The flow will:
  • Create a Return Authorization (RA) in NetSuite with status “Pending Receipt” and amount set to $0.
  • Automatically generate an Item Receipt to close the RA.

4. Item Matching Logic

  • If the Amazon item isn’t found:
  • Checks Etail Original SKU on invoice line.
  • If enabled, searches Celigo eTail item alias list.
