Maximum Number of Values That Would Show up on a List/Record Custom Field When Using Inline Editing

Scenario

User uses Inline Editing to edit a List/Record Custom Field. User wants to know the maximum number of selections that would show up when clicking the dropdown list.

Solution

The limit of the number of values that would show up from the dropdown list is set in Home > Set Preferences > Maximum Entries in Dropdowns. For example, if there are about 200 values expected from the dropdown list, the value for the preference should be set to a number greater than 200.

If the preference is set to a value less than the number of values on a list, the dropdown menu of the field will show a >> icon instead of showing list values. Clicking the icon will then allow the user to see selectable values.

With inline editing, typing in the first few characters on the field, then pressing the tab key, will filter the possible matches.
