Magswitch would like to create a workflow that would automatically cc: the salesperson listed on the Sales Order record anytime an email is sent from the SO, IF, or Invoice based on the US subsidiary.
Requirement
Create a workflow for email action on Sales Orders, Item Fulfillments, and Invoices with US-based subsidiaries. The workflow that would automatically cc: the salesperson listed on the Sales Order record anytime an email is sent from the SO, IF, or Invoice.
Our Solution
We will create a script to send a carbon copy(of the same subject, content, etc.) of each email sent from the SO, IF, and Invoices(created from sales order) to the “Sales Rep” in the sales order, for the US-based subsidiaries. Ie. for “subsidiary” = MTI, MIS, MAC.
The script will work for the Emails sent via standard email options in the record.

- Actions > Email and then merge and send
We will add the sales rep as CC in the message record opens up as shown below:
Assumptions
- The email recipient is the “Sales Rep” of the sales order, for SO, IF and Invoice.
- The proposed solution does not consider the email on standalone invoices.
- Emails send from SO,IF and Invoice by using standard Email action inside record are only considered
Risks
- Proposed a scripting solution as the Workflow cannot dynamically get the sender, recipient, subject, message and all.
- Proposed solution will not consider the emails sent through other scripts/workflows in the record.
