Outsourced manufacturing helps customers manage their subcontracted manufacturing processes by purchasing outsourced assembly production from vendors.
To enable outsourced Manufacturing:
Go to> Setup> Company> Enable Features
Enable the below-mentioned features:
- Purchase Orders – Transactions subtab, Basic Features section
- Advanced Receiving – Transactions subtab, Shipping & Receiving section
- Multi-Location Inventory – Items & Inventory subtab, Inventory section
- Assembly Items – Items & Inventory subtab, Inventory section
- Advanced Bill of Materials – Items & Inventory subtab, Inventory section
- Work Orders – Items & Inventory subtab, Inventory section
Then click save Go back to Setup > Company > Enable Features (Administrator)
Click the Items & Inventory subtab and under the inventory, section check the box Outsourced Manufacturing box.
After Outsourced Manufacturing is enabled, the Next step is to define an outsourcing location for the vendor who will outsource manufacturing to us.
To define Outsourced Manufacturing Location
Go to> List > Relationship> Vendor> Edit (edit vendor who will outsource manufacturing to us)
In the vendor record under the Outsourced Manufacturing subtab from the Manufacturing Location Field select the location or locations, for the outsourcing vendor and save.
