While creating the workflow it will be performed on all the record from the corresponding record types. We can set criteria to perform the workflow only for the required records.
Step1: Create a Saved Search with the expected criteria and save the search.
Step2: While creating the workflow make sure to give the Created Saved Search under the Saved Search Condition.
According to the selected Record type the Saved Searches will be listed here.
