The Personalized Catalog Views (PCV) feature enables you to provide different customers with access to different items. You can divide your customers into groups and provide each group with access to a tailored selection of catalog items. You can define whether a particular customer group can view the items, view the prices, buy the items, or all three, which is useful in many scenarios, particularly for B2B websites. For example:
- Businesses can grant VIP customers exclusive access to buy specific catalog items.
- Businesses can show products to non-members, but require signing up before displaying prices, and paid membership before permitting purchase.
- Retailers that are licensed to sell certain products in limited geographies can prevent customers in other geographic locations from seeing or buying those items.
- Manufacturers that require customers to be certified to buy certain items can ensure that all customers can see the items but only certified customers can buy them.
PCV uses NetSuite records, such as Customer Groups, Commerce Categories, and Item Collections, as well as the Customer Segments Manager tool, to help you personalize catalogs for your customers.
Personalized Catalog Views Setup Checklist
To use PCV in your web store:
- Determine the customer segments and item segments you require for your web store.
- Create customer segments .
- Create item segments.
- Enable the Personalized Catalog Views feature.
- Ensure that the people working with PCV have the correct permissions.
- Define which item segments are visible and can be purchased.
- Define which item segments are visible to which customer segments
- Define which item segments be purchased by which customer segments
- Define if all users can view or purchase items that are not included in any item segments that are mapped to customer segments
- Check that the correct items are displayed to the correct customers .
Note
- This information refers to SuiteCommerce or the 2019.2 release of SuiteCommerce Advanced or later. Do not enable Personalized Catalog Views if your site is using a SuiteCommerce Advanced release prior to 2019.2.
- Personalized Catalog Views is incompatible with SCIS. If you use SCIS, do not enable the PCV feature.
