We have different methods o deploy a workflow from sandbox to production. The methods can be manual creation, Suite Bundler, Copy to account or SDF method.
While deploying a workflow to production, keep note of the following points.
- If the workflow has dependency fields that are created on the sandbox and not yet in the production, please note that the script id of these fields and list will be used in the workflow when you import it. So You can first deploy the dependency customisations using SDF and then proceed with the workflow. If you create the custom fields and lists manually in the production, then you have to replace every script id of the fields and lists with the production script id.
- Even after successful validation, the deployment can return an error saying <dependency> is not present in the account. During that time just manually add the entire dependency object to the manifest file and continue doing it until the deployment is a success.
