Possible Reasons Why Fulfill Button is Missing in the Sales Order

Users may encounter missing Fulfill button in Sales Orders and this can be due to:

I. FULFILL BASED ON COMMITMENT PREFERENCE

There are 3 options on how to process order fulfillments based on item commitment namely Ignore Commitment, Allow Uncommitted, Limit to Committed. The Fulfill button may not show on an order if Limit to Committed is selected, since with this option, fulfillment is available only when it has lines that are fully committed. 

It is recommended that we review the Fulfill Based on Commitment preference (Setup Accounting Accounting Preferences Order Management Fulfillmentand see if setting it to Ignore Commitment or Allow Uncommitted will work for us. Please note, however, that there are consequences in choosing these options which are discussed in the Fulfill Based on Commitment Field Help.

II. ROLE ASSIGNED TO THE USER HAS MISSING ITEM FULFILLMENT PERMISSION

To check if the necessary permission is set for the role,

1.) Navigate to Setup Users/Roles > Manage Roles

2.) Edit the Role in concern

3.) Under Permissions tab > Transactions subtab, check if Full permission level set for Item Fulfillment

There are Two possible condition for this :

  1. Item Selected on Sales order is type of Service not Inventory item.
  2. fullfillment Permission not avaailable to this role.
