Setting Up a Parent Task
When creating a Project Task as a Parent Task, ensure the Planned Work field is set to 0 (zero). This configuration is required for the task to appear in the Parent Task dropdown menu.
Understanding Work Tracking Fields
The following fields are automatically populated by the system based on time tracked for a Project Task:
- Actual Work: Reflects the total time recorded for the task, derived from the Duration specified in the related Time Tracking records. Details can be viewed in the Time Tracking Subtab.
- Percent Complete: Represents the percentage of the planned task time that has been completed. It is calculated using the formula:
Percent Complete = [Actual Work / Calculated Work]
