Requirement
Corp Designs needs a customization that facilitate setting priorities for orders and sending them to Footprint accordingly for expedited processing.
Deliverables
- We will add a checkbox in Sales Order records in NetSuite.
- The checkbox will be labelled as “Expedite Order”.
- The checkbox created can be used to prioritize the orders in NetSuite.
- We can implement a functionality such that once a user checks this checkbox and saves the order, the EDI file associated with the order will be transferred to FP automatically.
- This will be a real time process.
- We will also send an email to the respective warehouses notifying them of the urgency of the order.
- We will consider only sales orders with ‘Pending fulfillment’ status for this process.
- The orders with a value in the ship date field will be only considered for this functionality.
- The orders will be sent to footprint irrespective of the ship date added.
- lIf an update is not intended to be prioritized for sending to Footprint, user should uncheck the “Expedite Order” checkbox while editing and saving the record.
- The priority will be always sent as Critical/Severe to footprint.
Assumptions
- Only sales orders with a pending fulfillment status will be considered for sending orders to Footprint based on priority.
- The orders will be sent to Footprint in real-time irrespective of the ship date value.
RisK
- As the update sync is not implemented For updates, only the changes made to the order by editing and saving the record will be considered.
- If an update isn’t necessary to be expedited to Footprint, the user should uncheck the checkbox while editing and saving. For other updates, such as backorders becoming available through receipts, these details can only be sent on an hourly basis, as per the current setup.
