Proposal Summary.
This proposal covers the Update Price Facet(Price band) in the Header sorting section in SCA webstore for NICKOLLS & PERKS website.
Requirement.
N&P’s current site uses the standard SCA price slider to filter items by price, this feature is displayed on the Item List page and that price filtering functionality be changed to a price band basis
Our solution.
In the website when we clicked on the “Price Bands” in header sorting section we can choose the price between a certain range with the help of this Price bands option.
When clicked on the down arrow button, we can see the price range. When selected the any of the option on the drop down menu, the selected option will be shown in the below section
Assumptions
- We assume that we need to display the price band Header sorting section in product list page
- The Price Band sorting option is not in Header filter section, so We need to create a new filter section at the header Sorting section in product list page.
- For this we need a new drop-down option and add required add the required price ranges in Header sorting section
- The development will be doing first in the sandbox account, After the confirmation we will move the changes to production account.
Risks
- Whenever we select the particular option from drop down Only certain fields on the item record are supported for field navigation
- It’s better avoid using facet options that have large number of possible values
- Adding an excessive number of facet field may impact performance of the website
