Reallocate item

We can reallocate an item that is already committed to a Sales order.

Jira Code: ME-233

NetSuite sometimes automatically allocates items from inventory to commit them to fill orders. Inventory can be automatically committed in the following cases:

  • As each sales order is created or approved, your account automatically allocates inventory from the item’s quantity available.
  • Inventory is automatically committed to filling backorders when goods are received from your vendors.
  • The inventory generated from assembly work orders is automatically allocated.

You can use the Reallocate Items page to redistribute your inventory items between open orders.

To get Reallocate Page

  1. Go to Transactions > Inventory > Reallocate Items.
  2. In that page select the item you want to reallocate.
  3. The location should be also selected. Based on this item and location the Sales orders will show.
  4. From that clear the checkbox of that sales order you want to deallocate.
  5. And manually allocate the number of items in the QUANTITY COMMITTED column.
  6. Now click on submit button.

After this the sales order we unchecked will be uncommitted and the Sales order we checked will committed with the extra items.
