Reconciliation Detail Report

The Reconciliation Detail Report provides the user with a comprehensive list of transactions that have been either cleared or remain uncleared for a specific bank account during the selected statement period. This report is organized by the statement date, and includes both categorized and itemized details of the transactions. This report becomes available only after the user has successfully reconciled the selected bank account. It is especially useful for companies that require a detailed audit trail to confirm the accuracy and completeness of both current and historical reconciliation data.

For the selected statement period, the report presents categorized transaction data, followed by detailed information for each item. It includes transaction types, dates, associated document numbers, entity names, memos (if available), and transaction balances.

The Reconciliation Detail Report categorizes data based on fields from the reconciliation page and includes the following sections:

  • Current Reconciled Balance – This is the result you get when you subtract the Total – Reconciled amount from the Last Reconciled Statement Balance.
  • Difference – This shows the difference between the Current Reconciled Balance and the Reconcile Statement Balance.
  • Last Reconciled Statement Balance Date – This shows the balance from the most recent reconciliation for the selected account. It only appears if this is not the first time the account has been reconciled.
  • No Previous Reconciled Balance – This only appears if there hasn’t been any previous reconciliation for the selected account and date. It replaces the Last Reconciled Balance section and shows a balance of zero.
  • Reconcile Statement Balance Date – This is the ending balance from the selected bank statement.
  • Reconciled – This lists all transactions that have been cleared and reconciled. The transactions are grouped into two categories: Deposits and Other Credits, and Checks and Payments, each with a total.
  • Unreconciled – This lists all transactions that are still in the system but haven’t been reconciled or included in the bank statement.

The user has the option to customize the report layout by removing columns that are not needed in the printed format. This feature is especially helpful if the report appears crowded due to the selected page orientation. Streamlining the view can enhance readability and presentation for printed or PDF exports.

Take note as well that this report does not support reporting by period, even if the Report by Period preference is set to All Reports. To view or change this setting, navigate to Home > Set Preferences, and go to the Analytics subtab.

To generate the Reconciliation Detail Report, the user should follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Banking/Budgeting > Reconciliation > Detail.
  2. From the Account dropdown, select the desired bank account.
  3. From the Statement Date dropdown, choose the relevant statement date.
  4. Click Refresh to view the report.
