Proposal Summary
This proposal is to create a Report for forecasting the Materials required for each branch in a date range based on Proscope.
Requirement
The client has long been interested in adding forecasting capabilities to NetSuite. The current idea involves creating forecasts based on scheduled activities within specified date ranges and branches. The aim is to consolidate views showing the total amount of materials required, considering only those at the “none”,” Reserved”, “Fully Consumed” or “approved” status on each job. This approach would enhance visibility into branch ordering and facilitate the consolidation of vendors based on factors like freight charges and lead times.
Deliverables
A custom page will be designed and developed to show the report. The Page will have two filters, Date Range and Branch.
Custom Page Set Up
Fields in the filter section:
- Start Date
- End Date
- Branch (Department Selection)
Data Filtering and Report Functionality:
The Project task with its Start date, End Date or both falls within the Start Date and End Date of the filter will be considered in this report.
All the ProScope Project Requisition under these Project Tasks with “Material Status” any of None, Approved, Reserved, and Fully consumed will be considered and listed in this report.
Report Output:
- Project Name: Name of the project associated with the Project task.
- Project Task: Specific Project Task name.
- Item: Item code from ProScope Project Requisition record.
- Quantity: Quantity from ProScope Project Requisition record.
- Item Cost: Cost of the item, retrieved from the “Item Defined Cost” field in the corresponding Item record.
The Item and the Quantity will be consolidated based on the Linked Project Task.
If there is too much data in the report, we may use the pagination option. It will be decided during the development time.
Excel Export Option:
Report export option will be provided in the report. A button will be available to export the report as Excel file.
By default, NetSuite allows file sizes up to 10MB so, if the excel file exceeds 10MB size, we will Split the file to two Excel files or more based on the total data size and will be downloaded in a single click.
Assumptions
- ProScope Project Requisition with “Material Status” other than None, Approved, Reserved, and Fully consumed is not needed to consider in this report.
- Project Wise consolidation is not required in this report.
- The Report is always needed to be consolidated based on the Project Task.
- The Item Cost will be always taken from “Item Defined Cost” (id: costestimate )field in the corresponding Item record and will not be considered the Item cost from Proscope project requisition record.
- The Quantity multiplied cost amount does not need to be shown in this report.
- All the subsidiaries will be considered.
- No additional page design will be added.
- It has dependency to the Proscope activity as the project task and Proscope Project requisitions are connected through Proscope activity task.
- Assume that the report is only needed to be exported as Excel file. The CSV, PDF or any other type of file export will not be available in the report.
- Project task with any status will be considered in this report.
Risk
- If there is a large volume of data to process, it might affect the performance and speed of the report generation.
