Resolve Error: “You must provide a password to give this person access to your account.” when Providing Access to a Contact of a Company

When editing a customer record and giving a contact access to the customer center you receive the error:” You must provide a password to give this person access to your account.”, even when both contact password fields are populated.

This issue can be resolved by updating the password for the main customer or company. 

  1. Login as an Administrator
  2. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers 
  3. Customer: Click Edit
  4. Click Access
  5. Give Access: Enter Checkmark
  6. Manually Assign or Change Password: Enter Checkmark
  7. Password: Enter a password
  8. Confirm Password: Enter the password
  9. Click Save.
