Scenario
There are instances when the Custom Form field is not visible on a custom form even if the field is marked as Show on the custom form’s setup page.
This is caused by the fact that only one form for the particular record type is active. If the Custom Form field does not include any other options because all the other forms are set as Inactive, then the field is hidden by the system which is standard behavior. Once any other form is available for selection, the Custom Form field is displayed on the form again.
To resolve, at least one other form for the same record or transaction type must be activated. The below solution is applied to Entry Forms.
Solution
- Navigate to Customization > Forms > Entry Forms
- Show Inactives: Enter Checkmark
- Inactive forms of preferred record type:
- Inactive: Remove Checkmark
- Click Submit
Note: The same principle extends to Transaction Forms wherein the Custom Form field drop-down will be missing on the transaction record, provided there is only one transaction form available as active for the given transaction type.
