Resolve stuck Extension activations

Scenario

These are steps that can be taken when the Extensions manager stops working and is preventing further activations.

What the user need to do is to delete the records on the Extensions Active that are connected to the Activation record. Then deleting the specific Activation record. 

Solution

Method 1: 

  1. Navigate to Customization ListsRecords& Fields Record Types
  2. Look for the following records : SC ExtMech Activation and SC ExtMech Extensions Active
  3. View the records and open the list of the records under those types
  4. Delete the SC ExtMech Extensions Active records connected to the SC ExtMech Activation record that is still In Progress.
  5. Delete the SC ExtMech Activation record after deleting the connected records.
  6. Start another activation

Method 2:

  1. Delete all records related to the base theme in the custom records for activation
  2. Uninstall the SuiteCommerce base theme
  3. Follow Method 1 detailed above (this will delete the link between installed extensions and SCA)
  4. Uninstall SuiteCommerce Extension Management (which works if there is no data left in the tables)
  5. Reinstall SuiteCommerce Extension Management (new version)
  6. Reinstall SuiteCommerce base theme (new version)
  7. Activate Base Theme
  8. Deploy Extensions
  9. Activate Extensions
