Resource Allocation Errors Due to Work Calendar Mismatch

Users may occasionally encounter the following error when attempting to allocate resources to a project task:

AT_LEAST_ONE_EMPLOYEE_ASSIGNED_TO_TASK_1_HAS_NO_WORKING_HOURS_BETWEEN_THE_START_DATE_2_AND_END_DATE_3

Understanding the Error

This error typically indicates that at least one employee assigned to a project task does not have any working hours during the specified task period. In essence, NetSuite is unable to allocate the employee to the task because, according to their defined work calendar, they are not scheduled to work during that time frame.

Case Study: Root Cause Analysis in Sandbox

While assigning two employees to a project task, this issue has been encountered. Upon investigation, the root cause was identified as a work calendar mismatch: The employees’ work calendars only allow availability from Monday to Wednesday. The project task was scheduled to begin on Thursday.

Since the task start date falls outside their available working days, NetSuite raised the allocation error.

Solution & Recommendations

To resolve this issue and prevent it from recurring, adjust the Task Schedule to begin on a day that aligns with the employees’ working calendar.
