Create a Skill Category


A Skill can represent either knowledge or the ability to perform a task. For each skill, you can define
different expertise levels, such as basic, intermediate, and advanced.
You can create Skill Categories to group related skills under the same classification.
Steps
1) Perform a Global Search to locate the New Skill Category page.
2) Enter a Name for this skill category.
3) Navigate to the Skill subtab.
4) Enter a Skill Name.
5) Click [Add].
6) Repeat steps 4-5 after each skill
7) Navigate to the Skill Level subtab.
8) Confirm or add the skill levels, as applicable.
Notes:
• The default Expertise levels are basic, intermediate, and advanced.
• The level you enter here are available for each skill entered on the Skill subtab.
• Skill levels should appear in this list from lowest to highest proficiency.
9) Click [Save].

Add skills to an Employee Record

Steps
1) Perform a Global Search to locate the Employee record.
OR Navigate to Expenses > Lists > Vendors (for Vendor records).
2) Click Edit.
3) Navigate to the Skills & Expertise subtab.
4) Enter the number of Years of Experience for this resource.
5) Navigate to each sublist. Each sublist represents a skill category.
6) Select a Skill for each skill category.
7) Select the Skill Level for each skill.
8) Click [Add].
9) Repeat steps 6-8 after each skill.
10) Navigate to the Portfolio sublist.
11) Enter social information such as LinkedIn or Website.
12) Click [Upload] to attach files, such as resume or work samples.
13) On the Upload Portfolio window, click [Choose File] to select a File from your local computer.
14) Select the file Type.
Note: New is an available option, however, creating a new type is not currently supported.
Selecting New and attempting to create a new portfolio type will result in an error.
15) Click [Save].

Update Skills using the My Skill Set Page

Steps
1) Locate the Employee Center-Home Links Portlet on the Home Dashboard.
2) Click My Skill Set.
3) On the My Skill Set record, click [Edit].
4) Confirm or edit Years of Experience, if applicable.
5) Navigate to the Skill Set subtab to update.
6) Select a Skill.
7) Select the appropriate skill Level.
8) Click [OK].
9) Click [Submit].
