Restoring Missing KPIs on NetSuite Customer Dashboard

Overview:

In NetSuite, users may occasionally find that certain KPIs (e.g., Overdue Balance, Days Overdue, Average Days to Pay, Average Days Overdue) are missing from their customer dashboard—even when role-based permissions are correctly configured.

Root Cause:

If a user manually removes a KPI from their dashboard, it cannot be re-added individually. This limitation stems from how NetSuite populates KPIs using its standard functionality.

Solution:

To restore the default KPIs:

  • Navigate to the user’s Access tab
  • Remove the assigned role
  • Reassign the same role

This action resets the dashboard layout and reintroduces the default KPIs for that role.

Filtering Transactions Based on Line-Level Item Exclusion

Overview:

When analyzing transactions such as Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, or Quotes, there may be a need to exclude records that contain a specific item on any line.

Use Case:

For example, if a report should count only transactions that do not include a particular item (e.g., a service SKU or internal-use product), those records must be filtered out—even if the item appears on any of the line.

Solution:

Use the “Item on Any Line” criteria in your saved search or report filter:

  • Set the condition to exclude the specific item
  • This ensures that any transaction containing that item on any line will be omitted from the results
