Protect your data by adding restrictions on your NetSuite folders.
1. Log in using the Administrator role (or any role with access to the folder).
2. Navigate to Documents > Files > File Cabinet.
3. Edit the corresponding folder.
4. Add a restriction which can be:
– Department
– Location
– Subsidiary
– Group
– Private
* Based on the employee record.
Can be static or dynamic.
Only the owner of the folder and the Administrator have access
Important:
– You cannot restrict individual files, but restrict access to the enclosing folder.
– Users with access can download the folder. If you want more file control (e.g., prevent download), consider using file hosting sites and input the link instead into a custom field.
– The restriction added to the parent folder does not apply to existing subfolders; however, new subfolders will inherit the restriction.
– Restriction based on a dynamic group is based on a snapshot of the dynamic group members.
