Role Restriction on the Custom Fields

A restriction needs to be applied to a custom field based on roles. The custom field should only be visible to some higher-level roles.

This can be done in the field setup itself. In the custom field setup, navigate to the ‘Access’ tab.

Select ‘None’ in the ‘Default Access Level’ and ‘Default Level for Search/Reporting’ dropdowns. Then select the roles and corresponding access level so that the field is visible for those roles only. After setting this restriction, the field will be hidden from remaining roles even in saved searches and lists.
