SC Product Lead Time Extension

Features: 

  • The Product Lead Time extension lets you display the estimated wait time for an out-of-stock item to again become available for purchase.  
  • This extension uses NetSuite’s Lead Time feature to calculate the wait time. 

Install Product Lead Time Bundle  

  • Navigate to Customization > Suite Bundler > Search and Install bundle 
  • Search for Product Lead Time in search box (Bundle ID= 251720) 
  • Select the bundle SC Product Lead Time 
  • Click on install 

Activate the Product Lead Time Extension  

  • Navigate to Commerce > Extension > Extension Manager 
  • Edit the domain in which we want to Activate the Extension. 
  • Click on the Extension tab. 
  • Select SC Product Lead Time and click on Activate. 

To display Product Lead Time for a product, perform the following steps: 

  1. Configure Properties 
  1. Add Field Sets 
  1. Enable Product Lead Time for an Item 

1.Configure Properties: 

To determine how Product Lead Time displays on your website, configure the properties on the Suite Commerce Configuration record. We can choose the message to display on the product page and whether to show lead time as a daily countdown or date. 

To configure properties: 

  1. After activating the Product Lead Time extension for a domain, go to Commerce > Websites > Configuration. 
  1. Select the website and domain where the Product Lead Time extension is activated and click Configure
  1. Go to the Extensions tab. 
  1. In the Product Lead Time subtab, set the following fields 
Field Description 
Message Text Sets the message to display on the Product page of your webstore. The calculated time replaces the placeholder [[leadtime]] automatically. This field supports basic HTML tags. 
Show Lead Time As Determines how the wait time displays on your website. Selecting Day Countdown displays the number of days until the item is back in stock. Selecting Date displays the date when the product will be back, formatted as specified in the Date Format field. If the lead time is less than one day, the wait time displays as one day or the current date. 
Date Format Sets the date format for when the Show Lead Time As field is set to Date
Maximum Number of Days Determines the maximum number of days to display. If the number of days when the product will be back exceeds the maximum, the maximum number is displayed in the Message Text. You can set the Maximum Number of Days at the extension and item level. You can override this setting for specific items by setting the Maximum Number of Days field on the Item record (Suite Commerce Extensions tab > Product Lead Time subtab). 
  1. Click Save. 

2. Add Field Sets: 

The field sets for a website determines the data that is exposed to site templates. To employ the Product Lead Time feature, you must add the Show Lead Time Message field to the site’s field sets.  

To add a Product Lead Time field to the Web Site Setup Record: 

  1. Go to Commerce > Websites > Website List. 
  1. Click Edit next to the website to which you are adding Product Lead Time. 
  1. Go to the Field Sets subtab. 
  1. Add the Show Lead Time Message (Custom) field to both the details and matrixchilditems field sets. For each field set, perform the following steps: 
  1. Locate the Fields Included in Field Set column and click the Set button. 
  1. Select Show Lead Time Message (Custom) from the Field Name list and click Add. 
  1. In the Field Set window, click Submit. 
  1. In the Field Set row, click OK. 
  1. After adding the field to both field sets, click Save. 

3. Enable Product Lead Time for an Item 

For Product Lead Time to display on your product pages, the extension must be enabled at the item level. You can update item records individually or use Mass Update to add Product Lead Time to entire commerce categories.  

To enable Product Lead Time for an item: 

  1. In NetSuite, go to Lists > Accounting > Items. 
  1. Click Edit next to the item for which you want to add Product Lead Time. 
  1. Go to the Suite Commerce Extensions tab. 
  1. In the Product Lead Time subtab, set the following fields: 
Field Description 
Show Lead Time Message If checked, enables the Product Lead Time feature for this item. 
Maximum Number of Days Determines the maximum number of days to display. If the number of days when the product will be back exceeds the maximum, the maximum number is displayed in the Message Text. You can set the Maximum Number of Days at the extension and item level. This field overrides the Maximum Number of Days field on the Suite Commerce Configuration record (Extensions tab > Product Lead Time subtab). 
  1. Click Save. 
  • If the item is a Matrix Item, click Update Matrix. 
  • If not, click Save 

After Completing all the set up in NetSuite, estimated wait time will show in website as shown below
