While installing the Singapore localization, NetSuite is showing the installation failure. The main cause of the error is pertaining to an incomplete setup of Singapore Tax provision in NetSuite. The possible reasons are below:
Enable the Plug-ins as per below:
- Navigate to Customization > Plug-Ins > Manage Plug-Ins.
- On the Manage Plug-In Implementations page, checked the SuiteTax Engine box.
- Clicked Save.
Confirm the following setup:
- Singapore Nexus
- Singapore Subsidiary
- Singapore Tax Codes
- Singapore Tax Types
It is a mandatory requirement that the setup for Singapore must be completed before installing the SuiteApp. To resolve the above error, follow the below steps:
Go to Setup > Tax > Nexuses > New = Create Singapore Nexus or Edit Existing Singapore Subsidiary
Go to Setup > Company > Subsidiary > New = Create Singapore Subsidiary and set the following:
- Name = Enter Subsidiary Name
- Country = Singapore
- Currency = SGD (Create new currency if SGD is not available)
- Click Save.
Once Subsidiary is Saved, Click Edit and set the following:
- Go to Tax Registrations Subtab and set the following:
- Country = Singapore
- Nexus = Singapore
- Tax Agency = Leave it Blank
- Tax Reg Number = Enter Details
- Tax Engine = SuiteTax Engine
- Effective From = Select Date
- Click Save
- NOTE: Subsidiary record will be saved. A Data Provisioning Confirmation will appear, click the link and wait for the Data Provisioning to be completed.
Once Data Provisioning has been completed, go to Setup > Tax > Tax Types = Observe and check if Singapore Tax Types has been created.
Go to Setup > Tax > Tax Codes = Observe and check if Singapore Tax Codes has been created.
Go to Setup > Nexuses > Singapore > Edit.
- The Tax Agency will be automatically populated = Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS)
- Go to Default Tax Codes/Groups subtab and select applicable Tax Codes for Goods and Services for each Tax Transaction Type.
- Click Save.
Go to Customization > SuiteCloud Development > SuiteApp Marketplace.
- Search for Singapore Localization SuiteApp and Click Install.
Now the SuiteApp installation is successful without any error.
