When creating a Journal Entry, if we wish to select the adjustment period in the Posting Period, the selected adjustment period will not be set in the Posting Period after saving, even if the Journal Entry is in Pending Approval.
As per NetSuite standards, the adjustment period can be set in the Posting Period only if the Journal Entry is in Approved status.
The proposed solution to fulfill this requirement involves creating a custom list that includes all the adjustment periods. Subsequently, a custom field named ‘Adjustment Period’ will be added to the Journal Entry, allowing users to select the relevant adjustment period. Upon saving the record, the Posting Period will default to the current period. During the approval of the Journal Entry, the Posting Period field can be set with the value selected in the Adjustment Period field. This can be achieved by updating the existing script for the approval flow, we can set the Adjustment Period value in the Posting Period along with its approval.
