Problem Statement:
I am setting up Supply Planning in our account but not sure how demand for components in the work orders will be included.
Background – In our sales orders, we have either an assembly item we purchase or an assembly item we built in house but we order the components to build the item. Those we built in house are created as Special Work Order items, and when a Sales Order is created, a Work Order will be created.
My goal is – in the Supply Planning is for NetSuite to suggest purchase orders from the sales orders and suggest purchase orders from the work orders.
But when I tried creating supply definition and then launching it, it only suggests to purchase based on items in sales order but not items in work orders. How can I make sure that NS suggest raw materials that I need to order for my special work order items?

By design, the MRP engine will only plan for items with replenishment method of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS).
