Transactions are Missing on Resolve Date

User has the following preferences enabled on Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > General:

– Allow Transaction Date Outside Of Posting Period = Allow

– Allow Inventory Transactions Dated Outside the Posting Period = T

User erroneously posted a Bill to an incorrect date, December 31, 2032, using Dec 2023 as Posting Period.

It was then noticed that the Bill is not showing on the Resolve Date/Period Mismatches page when doing period close tasks for book close. 

Solution

This happens if the Fiscal Year or Accounting Period to which the incorrect date belongs to is yet to be created in the system.

Resolve Date/Period Mismatches page includes Transaction Date, Period Name, Period Start, and Period End columns which pulls up information from Bill’s Date field. If the system cannot find any Accounting Period which matches the incorrect Transaction Date, the system cannot show this transaction on the Resolve Date/Period Mismatches page as the aforementioned columns are blank. 

To resolve, create the future periods using an Administrator role:

  1. Navigate to Setup Accounting Manage Accounting Periods
  2. Click Set Up Full Year
  3. Set Fiscal Calendar field
  4. Click Save
