Scenario:
A report needs to be developed to identify all posting transactions that were created after the corresponding accounting period was locked (but not closed). This is necessary because certain users or roles with override permissions can still create transactions despite period locks (e.g., after “Lock A/R,” “Lock A/P,” and “Lock All” actions). The report will help in monitoring and controlling such activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Note: Period close is not done on a specific date and may vary. Hence, we cannot set a specific date as the default in the search criteria.
Findings:
Unfortunately, upon checking, it appears that what you’re looking for is not achievable through a saved search. There’s no system notes available for selection under the accounting period join fields in the saved search, and it is not possible to customize the accounting period page to incorporate a field to display when the period was locked.
Dataset and workbook were created with the period locked date and transaction creation date. We are only considering the periods that are locked but not closed. We managed to get the date of period lock and date of transaction creation in the same workbook. We will have to manually identify which transactions were created after period lock.
