Troubleshoot SuiteSuccess Bundle Deployment Wizard

BUNDLE DEPLOYMENT WIZARD

The Bundle Deployment Wizard (BDW) was designed to assist users through the deployment of NetSuite SuiteSuccess and Platform Solution Bundles included in SuiteSuccess editions for our valued customers. The wizard uses a configuration template which informs the wizard of all the bundle deployment steps required to properly deploy our SuiteSuccess solutions prior to personalization sessions. As a result, using the Bundle Deployment Wizard have reported a 65-80% reduction in time to compete steps outlined in the Bundle Deployment Guides.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

1. The “Multi-Language” feature is required for the tool to run. Verify the feature is enabled by navigating to Setup > Company > Enable Features > Company > International.

2. The BDW has been developed to run in English (US) as the base language, this was required to provide translation support for international editions.

The English (US) language must be added to the account prior to running the BDW, this requirement applies to ALL regions including editions with variations in English Base Languages such as English (AU), English (International), English (UK).

3. Currently the BDW is ONLY SUPPORTED within Chrome. There are known defects within Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Using the BDW within an unsupported browser will result in the BDW “freezing” on the status page. If this occurs and you are in an unsupported browser, please hit the “cancel” button on the bottom of the page, Log into Google Chrome and restart the BDW using the exact same Customer ID and Customer Name. 

4. Always make sure to use the most up to date version of the BDW.

COMMON ERRORS

Title: International Tax Bundle Script Deployments

Solution: 

Error was caused by the missing scripts from International Tax bundle. If the customer doesn’t need the bundle, the errors can be ignored.

Title: Vendor Return Authorization Feature Not Found

Error:

Solution: 

Enable the Vendor Return Authorization feature.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features
  2. Go to the Transactions Tab
  3. Mark the checkbox for Vendor Return Authorizations

Notes: If the feature is already enabled, the error can be ignored.

Title: Electronic Bank Payments Permissions

Solution: 

Error was caused by the missing Electronic Bank Payments bundle on the account. If the customer doesn’t need the bundle, the errors can be ignored.

Title: No Dashboard Tiles Found

Error:

Solution:

The BDW tool would only be able to assign the Dashboard Tiles to the newly created customer roles if the Dashboard Tile records are present in the account. They are imported when the Data Import for Dashboard Elements SuiteApp is installed. 

1.   First verify that the SuiteSuccess Data Import for Dashboard Elements SuiteApp was successfully installed in the account by navigating to Customization > SuiteCloud Development > Installed SuiteApps.

2.   If the SuiteApp was installed successfully, verify that the csv import have run and have imported all records successfully.

  •    Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > View CSV Import Status
  •    You should see the following 5 import jobs with all records imported successfully

3.  If the SuiteApp failed or is not installed, install and wait for the CSV Imports to run and install the Dashboard Tiles again once complete.

Title: Form Field Update

Solution: 

In the Appendix of the deployment guide, check the Form Field Update section and verify if the changes are already applied on the [Customer] forms. If the changes have been applied, then the errors on the BDW tool are false negatives for the forms that are actually in the account. But if not, proceed with the deployment by manually adjusting the forms as instructed on the guide.

Title: Enhanced Sales Center

Error:

Solution: 

Error occurred due to the missing Enhanced Sales Center bundle on the account.

  1. Install the Enhanced Sales Center bundle
  2. Re-run the BDW tool

Notes: Make sure to use the EXACT same customer name and customer abbreviation to avoid duplicate objects on the account.

Title: Base Role Not Found

Solution: 

Below solution is applicable if you are using BDW v5.x and above.

  1. Make sure that all SuiteSuccess SuiteApps have been installed before using the BDW tool.
  2. Check the list of custom roles and see if the roles mentioned on the error are existing and not inactive.

Title: Timesheet Not Found

Error:

Solution: 

Error is caused by the Timesheet related features not being enabled.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features
  2. Go to Employees Tab
  3. Mark the checkbox for Weekly Timesheets and New Weekly Timesheets Interface

Title: US Specific Tax Related Permissions Not Found

Solution: 

US Specific Tax related permission errors are often encountered for customers outside of the US. Thus, these can be disregarded in the said scenario.

Title: Current Permission Level is Higher 

Error:

Solution: 

As of BDW version 5.x and higher, the tool now dynamically configures the tasks that the tool runs based on the bundles that are included in the list while you are making your selections. Often times these bundles contain overlapping permissions. The tool will automatically maintain the higher permission level on the role.

No action is required. The yellows errors are informational but do not prevent you from moving ahead and completing the remaining deployment steps.

Title: Automation Status Stuck at Processing Role Creation

Solution:

This issue is caused by running the BDWI tool instead of the BDW tool. To resolve this, the proper tool needs to be triggered.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Bundle Deployment > Wizard
  2. Complete the Automation Process

Title: Missing Next Button in the Mandatory Checklist

Solution:

This problem is caused by missing to mark a checkbox in the Mandatory Checklist. 

Note: ALL checkboxes in Step 1 has to be marked in order for the tool to proceed with the following steps.
